Remains of the Valley of the Kings. In 1902, the American Theodore Davis received permission from the Egyptian government to start excavations in the "Valley of the Kings." He dug for 12 winters. Significant tombs discovered such as the Tutmus IV, Sipta and Horemheb, and found the mummy and coffin of the great "heretic pharaoh," Amenhotep IV.
